A garden view

This is our view from the window over the kitchen sink.

Our old house has old windows, with "wavy" glass... it makes a very pretty "special effect" as we look at the world outside.

And this summer, we're enjoying looking at our garden, and our pomegranate bushes (one visible on the left), and our big pear tree (center back of the photo, but in the corner of the yard).

And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; ...

I love it when you post pictures! One of these days we need to plan a girls' weekend. You're welcome here, and you can bring a whole slew of pics with you!

You have such a green thumb, and I envy you your fruit trees. My grandmother used to have a pomegranet (sp?) bush - or tree - what is it, I can't remember? Which is funny to me because now poms seem to me to be rather exotic and old-fashioned at the same time.

We are having trouble recently with tomato hornworms (I think they're called). DISGUSTING. Seriously, seriously disgusting. We've had 5, I think - they seem to come from nowhere! At least the season is almost over. We'll till it all up this year and hope that the problem will be gone. If not, we'll be more aggressive next year. Bleh, nasty.

We have a good many tomatoes on the plants right now, but they aren't ripening as quickly these days. The peppers perked up towards late summer (although they're small), and FINALLY we have ONE purple eggplant growing!!! We've had ever so many blooms but nothing ever came of them till now. We're eeking it out. :)

We will have one small basket of grapes from the vine pretty soon, but next year we ought to have a nice crop since the vine grew so much this year. Those things are amazing!

Are you getting the rain we are here? It poured yesterday, we had a good bit today, too. More in the forecast for the next week.

And then...
and then we're praying for sunshine for our trip to the beach. And for healthy people to enjoy it. We're surrounded by colds and flu all around us, but we're praying for one good week! :)

Y'all have a cozy weekend. :)
