Some blessings of the week past

* Quite-cool-for-July temperatures ... a welcome respite from a significant heatwave
* Full rain barrels
* A growing garden quickly thirsty for the water from the full rain barrels
* Tomato plants in need of tying up
* A promising library book to begin
* A generous gift
* The pleasure of planning a fun outing with my mother

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
James 1:17

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:
Psalm 92:1

From time to time, John and I will say that everyone needs something to look forward to, and we try to think of something fun to plan. It's easier said than done. But maybe if I spent more time considering LITTLE things I could look forward to, it would be the "spoonfull of sugar" that I need sometimes to "make the medicine go down!" :)

My problem is that sometimes I get so caught up in my to-do list, saying, "when I'm done I will do this or that," that I never actually get around to doing that thing I looked forward to. Or I've waited too long and I'm too tired.

I need to work on that! In the long run, it might help me to be more productive - or at least to keep a more cheerful spirit, which I'm sure my family would appreciate. :)
